Coding For Graphic Designers

I tell graphic designers trying to develop web sites the same thing:

You can either design to your coding level or hire someone to code to your design level.

The client gets a better design from the graphic designer. The graphic designer doesn't have the headache of coding a design beyond their coding experience.

Service Provided

You, the graphic designer, provide me with the PSD. I code it into clickable HTML.

The coding I provide is: HTML, CSS and javascript, minor coding for PHP & ASP.

The price I quote depends on these variables:

• Complication of design
• Number of templates
• What needs to be coded:
  • Just the templates
  • Entire clickable site with blank space for the content
• Javascript and AJAX functionality

Complication of Design in Regards to Pricing

More complicated designs cost more because they require more coding and more time debugging to makes sure the code works in the major browsers.

Q: Will you code a site from an Illustator AI file?
A: No, because Illustrator anti-aliases lines when exporting to JPG or GIF. Fixing "fuzzy" lines requires time consuming graphics work.
